Kopi Kurma at Home — Dates Coffee, Done in Minutes
Kopi kurma is the dates coffee that has quietly taken over Malaysian pantries — rich coffee with the natural sweetness of dates and far less added sugar. Here is how to enjoy it at home.
What is kopi kurma?
It is simply coffee blended with dates (kurma) for sweetness, instead of relying on spoonfuls of sugar or condensed milk. The dates give it a deep, caramel-like sweetness, so it tastes indulgent while being lower in added sugar.
The one-minute instant way
The easiest route is a ready premix. Tear open a sachet of Kilang Minuman Kopi Kurma, add hot water, stir — done. It is factory-direct and low in added sugar, which is why offices order it by the kilo. Prefer a creamy latte instead? Kopi Buttercream Latte is the smoother, dessert-like cousin.
Hot & iced
- Hot: one sachet, 150–200ml hot water, stir well.
- Iced: dissolve in a little hot water first, then pour over a glass of ice; add milk if you like it creamy.
